it’s true, it’s true!  today marked the one-year anniversary of my first-ever blog post here on last train to pooksville.  and on august 4th, exactly a year ago i recall thinking almost as soon as i’d hit “publish”, how i wish i had blogged my way through my pregnancy instead of waiting until poppy was 4 months old to begin my bloggy journey.  i can say with 100% honesty that for me, blogging has been an amazingly positive experience.  i’ve come into contact with really lovely people, many of whom i now hold as dear friends (and never would have gotten to know had it not been for this blog.)  this little space for my thoughts and photos has also been a great creative/theraputic outlet for me – somewhere i’ve enjoyed sharing support, humor, empathy, new knowledge, adorable photos, and of course, a good poop story here and there (it is nothing if not a mom blog, after all!)

in my first month of blogging, i shared with the world why i resorted to using a pump to ensure my daughter would be breastfed, and subsequently why i was able to donate over 150 ounces of breastmilk to an adopted baby.  i posted some cute videos of poppy’s infectious laughter & her rolling over for the first time.  i chronicled my girl’s 4-month wellness checkup and seriously can’t believe she was ever such a stubby little chubkin!

that same month, i made a post about my ever-intensifying love of crafting, which is amazing to look back on now with my etsy shop in full swing!  and of course who could do without a couple of exhorbitant photo blogs, like this one and this one (and yes, for all you harpers happenings readers, that is a chubby vintage harper playing with poppy midway through that second photo blog!) :D

in reflecting on this blog & looking back over those first posts, it positively blows my mind that inside of one year, my girl has transformed from this:

into this!:

i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again:  THANK YOU to everyone out there who has, even once, stopped by to read, comment, and support this blog.  i love the little “family” of bloggers & friends i’ve discovered here, and i honestly feel so lucky to have the best readers EVER!!

cheers!
