hello darlings!
yesterday, my little family ventured out to the puyallup fair for a bit of wholesome family fun! we’d gotten a pair of free tickets from a good pal and the weather outside was a stunning 80 degrees – a perfect recipe for a wonderful day! (especially considering that, last year after paying to get in & purchasing some overpriced snacks, we were caught in a sudden downpour and left in a huff after less than an hour!) i’m happy to report that this year’s fair excursion more than made up for our previous fair disappointment. and i believe miss poppy agrees 100%!
i asked her if she was excited to see the fair. this face was her reaction.
overly excited that i got a chance to wear this newly purchased vintage day dress, before autumn weather completely takes over for the year!
pretty swing.
traditional phillipine dancing! poppy loved watching this.
camel rides!
pretty ferris wheel.
daddy & daughter. love when i can get both of them to smile for a shot!
little lady, big pumpkin.
heading home for nap time. bribed her out of being upset over leaving by letting her wear my glasses. it worked.
two minutes later.
… and back to the fair that evening! they offer free re-entry once you pay with your tickets, and i couldn’t resist a second trip in. many thanks to my sweet husband for entertaining my crazy and being such a good sport about going back! (even he agreed, it was a great idea and we all had a wonderful time!)
the animal exhibits were MUCH less crowded that evening, so we got to see a lot more sweet critters, like baby chicks…
and the zee-donk! (zebra-donkey hybrid. who knew?!)
i just really like all the pennants. nerd-alert!!!
her little face says it all.
we had such an amazing day! it was definitely one for the books. i’m so happy that everything worked out so smoothly from start to finish! and our little lady just adored the fair – the bustle of the crowds, all the cool animals & music, and especially all the snacks! her favorites were the curly fries, lemonade and ice cream, but she really liked the funnel cake, too. i am already looking forward to going back next year, and the hubs agreed that a morning & evening trip in is definitely the way to go. i’m thinking next year, at age 3.5, poppy will be ready to try out some of the craft-making & rides, which will be so fun! i have really fond memories of visiting this very fair as a youngster, and it’s just so fun and special to pass the experience on to my little lady. what a treat!
hope you and yours are having a lovely weekend, too!
cheers!

Loved the fair too! The hubs has deemed that donkey zebra thing, “Zonkey.” It was a perfect day for the fair.
i kind of can’t believe whoever came up with “zee-donk” didn’t think of “zonkey” first! it’s clearly a better name. (:
How fun! Poppy is the cutest little thing!
We took Eva to the State Fair a month ago, and she seriously lost her shirt when she saw the baby animals : ) She was completely giddy with excitement!
so fun to see their excitement, right? i’m already excited to take her to the spring fair in six months! (;
love all the color in these photos. and that night shot of the ferris wheel is fabulous! we thought about going to our fair this year, but decided against it due to the prices of everything. i think next year we simply must go. even if the only good thing is the food
i’m not positive whether we’d have gone, if it weren’t for the free tickets. the prices are absolutely crazy, especially if you want to do ANY rides or games! but we actually managed to do the trip on a pretty decent budget – after paying for parking twice and getting all the food we wanted, we spent less than $50. totally worth it for a day this fun! (;
She totally loved the fair! Look at that face!
she really, REALLY loved it. definitely taking her to the spring fair in april (perfect since it’s her birthday month!)
Poppy has THE BEST grin! It’s totally contagious, I love it!
